🌿 A Day of Wonder: Our Visit to Nami Island, South Korea

🚤 Arrival and First Impressions

Tucked in the middle of the Han River, Nami Island greeted us with a gentle breeze and scenery that felt like a painting come to life. Located just outside Seoul, it offered a refreshing escape from the rhythm of the city and a chance to reconnect with nature, art, and one another.

We began our adventure with a short ferry ride from Gapyeong Wharf. Nami Island playfully refers to itself as the Naminara Republic, complete with its own passport and flag. This whimsical detail set the tone for a day filled with discovery and delight.

🌲 Nature and Tranquility

As we stepped onto the island, we were welcomed by rows of tall metasequoia trees. Their golden leaves rustled softly in the autumn air, and the path beneath them was covered with fallen foliage, creating a dreamlike walkway that invited us to slow down and savor each moment.

We wandered through sculpture gardens, admired creative art installations, and paused by the lakeside to take in the calm waters reflecting the sky. Every corner of Nami Island seemed designed to inspire reflection and joy.

Families rode tandem bicycles, couples posed beneath archways of trees, and children laughed as they explored open fields and forest trails. One of the highlights was visiting the filming locations of the beloved Korean drama Winter Sonata. Even for those unfamiliar with the show, the romantic ambiance of these spots was undeniable.

We ended our visit with a quiet walk along the riverside, watching the sun dip behind the mountains as the island began to glow in the soft light of dusk. Leaving Nami Island felt like waking from a beautiful dream.
